Filipino Choral Music Comes Together

The International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM) was founded in 1982 for the purpose of facilitating communication and exchange between choral musicians throughout the world.

Since 1988 this term has been standing for a unique and successful series of international choir competitions & festivals, organised by the INTERKULTUR Foundation. Ever since more than 2200 choirs from more than 70 countries worldwide have been able to experience the unifying power of music at more than 50 events. 150.000 singers from the north, the south, the east and the west sang and competed, learned from each other, celebrated their success and had unforgettable experiences through MUSICA MUNDI®.

The National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) was formally organized in 1973 under Presidential Proclamation No. 25 and amended in September 30, 1998, as a response to the "imperative need to preserve, develop and promote Philippine music as an art and as a handmaid of cultural development; and in recognition of the Filipinos' innate love for music".
