The International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM) was founded in 1982 for the purpose of facilitating communication and exchange between choral musicians throughout the world.

Since 1988 this term has been standing for a unique and successful series of international choir competitions & festivals, organised by the INTERKULTUR Foundation. Ever since more than 2200 choirs from more than 70 countries worldwide have been able to experience the unifying power of music at more than 50 events. 150.000 singers from the north, the south, the east and the west sang and competed, learned from each other, celebrated their success and had unforgettable experiences through MUSICA MUNDIĀ®.
